Evolution of the Diagnosis
Taisei is just about 7 weeks. We tried to give him a bottle yesterday and he wouldn't take it. I only could get him to drink 1 oz. Uh oh. Are we already too late? Or should we just keep trying? Any pointers? We saw a seventh doctor today. (That's a lot of copays.) But this is the first one who "specializes" in abnormal skin disorder. He definitely had more opinion. And of the 3 OB's - if there's a skin rash during pregnancy, it's PUPPP. According to Dr Powell, Dermatitis is actually more common in pregnant women than even PUPPP. Wami's history or rash diagnosis:
- Jan 20, 06 - Dr Beard: Exotic bug bite from Hawaii
- Feb 27, 06 - Dr Sotiriou: Eczema
- Mar 03, 06 - Dr Macy/Dr Linda: PUPPP
- Mar 03, 06 - Dr Nielson: PUPPP... maybe
- Mar 29, 06 - Dr Beard: PUPPP
- Apr 07, 06 - Dr Nielson: Psoriasis
- May 10, 06 - Dr Bitner: Pityriasis Rosea
- May 12, 06 - Dr Beard: PUPPP
- May 15, 06 - Dr Powell: Dermatitis, possibly parapsoriasis. Biopsy performed.

Hey,
My sister-in-law said her daughter (her 5th kid) wouldn't take a bottle. Then, at a family activity, she reached over and grabbed one from another relative about her age and started drinking the milk from that one. So, Kristian went out and bought her kid an identical bottle. Problem solved. I guess, just like with pacifiers, certain kids will only take to certain bottles. Bummer, cuz I was hoping T. would like the Curious George bottle.

Cute BABY!!! My sister's kids wouldn't take the bottle (or when they did, it was very few and far between). Hope Wami recovers quickly!! You could always try Homeopathic Therapy! :)

Hey everyone - thanks for your comments! Taisei took the bottle last night! He wasn't fussing too much, but we knew he was getting hungry so we tried it. And he took it! In fact, he slurped down the whole bottle in just 2 minutes. So we'll be sure to continue giving the bottle 2-3 times a week. Sorry Es - we haven't used the Curious George one yet. This is the one that connects directly to the pump.

My boys didn't take a bottle either. They refused to eat even though they were hungry. James was very lucky because he never got up with me when i had to feed them.

Yeah, I was thinking after I wrote that the timeframe was wrong ... was thinking of an older baby. :)

Taisei is a cute baby! I can't tell if he looks like you or Wami, yet, though. :)
I really hope Wami feels better soon with her skin problem.
