Mueller Park Trail

Three boy scouts, Randy and I hit another mountain biking trail this weekend, Bountiful's Mueller Park trail. It was our longest and probably most grueling one yet. It started off with a treachurous 5 mile ascent of nearly 2000 feet to the peak, Rudy's flat, followed by about 8 miles of mostly descent and one last climb back to the cars. Most of the boys had already burned through their 1 or 2 water bottles by the time we hit Rudy's flat. Luckily I had a big 2 liter hydration pack to share as we went down the mountain. Going down was fun. It was a little technical with extruding tree roots, rocks and fallen trees. The trees were a little more difficult to negotiate. The trail was submerged in pine trees and other thick vegetation - not boring like a lot of the other scrub oak trails in Utah.

It was a beautiful ride and thankfully accident free again. We felt like we were on top of the world after we got down off of the mountain. Then, I felt like a slug for the rest of the day. My good wife Wami took care of Taisei all morning while we were out having fun. Thanks Wami!
