Jack Russell Pride
As of late, we've noticed that Hiro's less playful at the park. We traced this change in behavior back to when Taisei was born. Ever since then, Hiro's been Taisei's big brother. Although he doesn't put up with a lot of crap from Taisei at home, he only growls and walks away to another spot. But Hiro goes nuts if another dog tries to approach Taisei. He's fiercely protective of his little brother. Who says Jacks are no good with children? I have no doubt that Hiro would risk his life to protect Taisei and his family if the need ever arose.

April 30th was Hiro's birthday. Since I was out of town that day, we're going to celebrate tonight. Happy Birthday Hiro!
Note: We wouldn't hesistate to get another Jack Russell, but we would not recommend them for the beginner. If you're considering a dog, you'd better consult with a dog trainer first. They require firm, consistent discipline and tons of exercise. Otherwise they'll overtake your household.

Do you think you were able to give him the "firm, consistent discipline" that he needed to not become an overtaker? I think Hiro is a very good dog.

Hi Am, yeah. He's one of the most behaved dogs I know. But we know other Jacks that owners consider to be very smart, but very mischievous and stubborn. It's usually because they haven't established the proper order of authority in their household. And then there are the [bad] dog owners who just leave their dogs alone in the yard or even worse, locked up in a dark room. Any dog will be misbehaved (random barking) and unpredictable a lot under those conditions - no different from an abused child.

Hiro does seem very well behaved and friendly. That picture with him and the hat is classic. Did wami actually bake a cake? Ha! Very cool that he is very much part of the family.

Wami made this cake. Especially for dogs. It has applesauce, apple chuncks, flour and some other stuff. It actually smelled good enough to eat. But we only let Taisei eat a little bit. haha!
